Running ZuluGIS 2021and ZuluServer 2021under Alt Workstation 10 OS
In November 2022, ZuluGIS 2021 and ZuluServer 2021 were tested under the Alt Workstation 10 OS in the Wine 7.19 environment.
For testing, we used workstations running Alt Workstation 10 OS. The Alt Workstation 10 OS was installed on VirtualBox 6.1.34 and VMware® Workstation 16 Player 16.2.1 virtual machines.
Download the Alt Workstation 10 OS distribution package: https://www.basealt.ru/alt-workstation/download#c1211
We installed ZuluGIS and ZuluServer 2021 and configured access to the HASP hardware security key. The installation package included a set of modules for working with utility networks: ZuluThermo, ZuluHydro, ZuluGaz, ZuluDrain, and ZuluSteam.
We tested the main functions of the geographic information system: graphics data editor, input and editing of tabular data, hydraulic simulation modeling and analysis for heat networks, water supply systems, gas networks, wastewater disposal systems, and steam pipelines.
We tested the main functions of the GIS server: data publishing for ZuluGIS, data publishing using ZuluServer web services, ZuluGIS Online performance, and differentiation of access rights.
The functions were tested using local data and data hosted on the local and remote ZuluServer.
No errors were detected when running ZuluThermo, ZuluSteam, ZuluHydro, ZuluDrain, and ZuluGaz calculation modules; the protocol and calculation results obtained in Alt Workstation 10 OS fully correspond to the calculation results obtained when working in Windows. The speed of calculations varied slightly; the calculations for the same layer were performed in different operating systems:
- on the left – Windows 10 virtual machine, the calculation takes 2 minutes 5 seconds;
- in the center – Alt Workstation 10 virtual machine, the calculation takes 2 minutes 8 seconds;
- on the right – the default Windows 11 OS, the calculation takes 1 minute 56 seconds.
